Somalia and UNDP Strengthen Cooperation on Digital Government and Transformation

The meeting provided an opportunity for an introductory engagement and discussions on strengthening cooperation between the Ministry and UNDP, particularly in digital government services, technology innovation, and Somalia’s digital transformation efforts.

The Minister of Communications and Technology of the Federal Government of Somalia , H.E. Mohamed Somali, received the newly appointed UNDP Resident Representative to Somalia, Mr. Christophoros Politis, at the Ministry in Mogadishu.

Minister Mohamed Somali highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation and technical support in line with Somalia’s national priorities in communications and technology.

Mr. Christophoros Politis reaffirmed UNDP’s commitment to continued partnership with the Federal Government of Somalia, including efforts to strengthen government institutions, digital services, and the implementation of the country’s digital transformation agenda.

The meeting was also attended by the Acting Director General and senior directors from the Ministry.

The Ministry of Communications and Technology remains committed to working with international partners to strengthen digital infrastructure, expand e-government services, and improve access to modern and effective services for the Somali people.
