Overall inflation in Canada up 3 per cent
Inflation accelerated to 3% in July, up from 2.8% in June, fuelled by another jump in gasoline prices. For now, higher energy costs aren't leading to broader inflation, so economists expect the Bank of Canada to hold off from raising interest rates at its next meeting on September 2.
