Part of downtown Halifax evacuated due to threat, suspicious vehicle
Halifax Regional Police are advising the public to stay away from the Purdy’s Wharf parkade in downtown Halifax as well as the area of the Canada Games Centre.

Halifax police arrested a man on Monday morning following a bomb threat he allegedly made involving downtown Halifax.
Officers have contained a suspicious vehicle in the parkade at 1969 Upper Water St.
Police issued an alert about a bomb threat in the area of Upper Water Street and evacuated the following areas downtown:
The intersection of Barrington Street/Amalamek Way.
Brunswick Street/Dr. Alfred Waddell Street to Brunswick Street/Cogswell Street.
Duke Street/Barrington Street to Upper Water Street.
The evacuation order includes businesses, and pedestrians were asked to leave the area as well.
The man was arrested on Thomas Raddall Drive near the Canada Games Centre in the Clayton Park area of Halifax, police said in a news release. An investigation is also underway in that area.
The public is advised to avoid the areas until further notice.
