Qatar, Guyana Sign MoU to Strengthen Cooperation in Agriculture, Technology
Doha, September 09 (QNA) - The State of Qatar and the Co-operative Republic of Guyana signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday to strengthen cooperation in agriculture and technology. The memorandum was signed on behalf of Qatar by HE Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah, and on behalf of Guyana by HE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hugh Hilton Todd. The agreement reflects the two countries' commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation, supporting sustainable agricultural development and benefiting from modern technologies. The memorandum aims to enhance cooperation between the two countries in agriculture and technology, including crops, livestock and fisheries, as well as the exchange of expertise, training and capacity-building. It also provides for cooperation in the use of modern agricultural technologies, contributing to the development of the agricultural sector and strengthening cooperation in food security and supply chains. The signing of the memorandum comes as part of Qatar and Guyana's efforts to broaden the prospects for joint cooperation, particularly in the agricultural and food sectors, in support of food security and the diversification of supply sources, while opening new avenues for cooperation and investment between the two countries.
