Resato Hydrogen Technology Files for Suspension of Payments
Resato Hydrogen Technology BV has filed for a suspension of payments, according to Hydrogen Central. The application was submitted on July 21, and a court-appointed administrator, Jeroen Sprangers of REIN, took up his duties on July 22.
Financing shortfall forces stay of payments
The company, based in Assen and known for manufacturing hydrogen refueling stations, had been seeking new financing after its funding became uncertain. By Monday, July 20, it became clear that despite significant support and interest, sufficient financing for the immediate short term was not available. As a result, the company could not continue in its current form, making the stay of payments unavoidable.
Resato Hydrogen Technology has grown rapidly to become a European technology leader and market leader in hydrogen mobility. The news creates uncertainty for employees, customers, suppliers, and partners, the company acknowledged.
Relaunch hopes and stakeholder communications
With the administrator on board, the next steps are being determined. The company, in collaboration with the administrator, is handling external communications with all stakeholders, including customers and suppliers.
In recent weeks, as financing issues emerged, the company received expressions of support and offers of assistance from politicians, industry organizations, and public and private entities in the Netherlands and Europe. Building on these positive developments, Resato Hydrogen Technology hopes a relaunch will be possible with one or more new short- and long-term financiers. Discussions are underway regarding several concrete leads, and the company is open to serious candidates, preferably those with strategic synergies.
The company expressed gratitude to its customers, suppliers, and partners and pride in its employees, noting that together they have made the journey so far possible. Resato Hydrogen Technology said it is fully committed to ensuring it can still embark on the next phase.
