Russia attacks foreign-flagged ship in Black Sea
Authorities in Ukraine say Russian forces are continuing to carry out attacks in the Black Sea. They said the latest target was a foreign-flagged cargo ship carrying Ukrainian wheat. They said one person was killed and three were injured.
Officials in the southern region of Odesa said on Thursday that the ship was under the flag of Guinea-Bissau. They described the attack as a demonstration of "the systematic nature and cynicism of Russian terror," adding that it poses a threat to both "civilians and global food security as a whole."
Russia's defense ministry released video on Wednesday showing strikes it carried out in the Black Sea. It says the targets were naval vessels operating on behalf of Ukrainian forces. It also said on Thursday that drones struck two ships transporting military cargo the night before.
Russian forces last month launched an attack on a foreign-flagged cargo ship that was carrying corn from Odesa's port. Ten people were killed.
