Samsung Innovation Campus Launched in Libya to Train Youth in AI
Under the supervision of the Tripoli based Libyan Office of the Minister of State for Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence, the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) programme was launched last Wednesday (12 August). T
The government said this global training initiative aims to develop youth skills and qualify them in the fields of artificial intelligence and programming through a training track that includes the execution of applied projects under the guidance of experts and specialists. Participants who successfully complete the programme requirements receive a certificate from Samsung.
The government reported that the programme attracted significant interest from young people, receiving 4,193 applications. These were reviewed and evaluated based on the programme's approved criteria and guidelines, resulting in the selection of 155 participants—comprising 97 males (63%) and 58 females (37%).
This programme represents a step within a broader effort to invest in human capital, build national capabilities, and foster collaboration with global technology companies. It supports the objectives of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy and contributes to building a digital future in Libya grounded in knowledge and innovation.
The launch of the programme aligns with the directives of the Tripoli government and the Prime Minister’s commitment to supporting and empowering youth and building national technical capabilities. It also harmonises with the goals of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy (2026–2030), particularly regarding human capital development, digital skill enhancement, the qualification of national talent, and the strengthening of partnerships with the private sector and global technology companies.
