The engagements are expected to create opportunities for partnerships, knowledge exchange and technology collaboration that could bring advanced expertise to Mauritius and the wider African region.

State Informatics Limited (SIL) is exploring partnerships with Indian startups and technology companies as part of efforts to strengthen Mauritius’ position as a regional technology hub.

SIL Chairman Joyadeep Beeharry and Managing Director Dr. Parmesh Pallanee participated in India Startup Week 2026 in Bangalore on August 21–22, where they engaged with startups and technology leaders developing solutions in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

SIL said emerging technologies in areas such as AI and cybersecurity could help modernise legacy systems and accelerate digital transformation across government institutions.

The company’s Centre of Excellence is built around three key areas: research and innovation, cybersecurity, and data technology. These areas form part of SIL’s contribution to Mauritius’ ambition of becoming a leading technology hub in the region.

SIL also aims to strengthen connections between the Indian and Mauritian startup ecosystems by creating opportunities for expertise sharing, investment and innovation.

As part of this vision, the company is considering collaboration with strategic partners to organise a future Mauritius Startup Week, bringing together startups, investors and innovators from Mauritius, India, Africa and other markets.

SIL said fostering innovation, collaboration and technology transfer will remain central to its efforts to support Mauritius’ digital transformation and its development as a regional technology hub.
