Bilingual business network aims to boost Lowcountry startups with education and visibility

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — In a region where Charleston’s diversity is rapidly reshaping the business landscape, the Spanglish Small Business Association is positioning itself as a connector for a growing bilingual entrepreneurial ecosystem — bringing together entrepreneurs, small businesses, nonprofits, professionals, community leaders and strategic partners through networking, education, collaboration and business visibility.

The association has been working out of the Small Business Enterprise & Entrepreneurial Resource Center in the City of Charleston and has now partnered with Origin SC, a nonprofit that helps individuals achieve financial and housing stability through counseling, education and advocacy. Origin SC has served South Carolina residents since 1888, working with people facing housing, credit, debt and other financial challenges.

As part of the partnership, SSBA will host its fourth Wednesday events at Origin SC’s facilities, including its monthly Latina Pitch Live, aimed at supporting the community and helping startups connect.
