Tesco trialling technology allowing shoppers to try on clothes in whole new way
Tesco has begun trialling new technology that allows shoppers to try on clothes without using a traditional changing room.
The supermarket giant's new virtual try-on technology allows customers to test around 1,500 items from the F&F clothing range by taking or uploading a photo of themselves onto a digital screen in the store’s clothing department.
Alternatively, they can select a digital model to view outfits in various sizes.
The technology is part of a wider refresh at the store’s F&F Clothing service hub, which aims to help customers explore new styles and shop with greater confidence.
It is currently being trialled at Tesco's Sandhurst Extra store.
Tesco said the trial will help the retailer understand how it can support in-store shoppers in discovering new looks and making more informed choices before purchasing.

The Sandhurst Extra store has also introduced new changing rooms, an upgraded service hub for easier checkout and returns, and expanded its F&F clothing range across womenswear, menswear, and childrenswear.
The store now features updated signage and lighting as part of the refresh.
Tesco expands online fashion range
Tesco has also announced an expansion of its F&F online fashion offering, which launched last year.
Customers can now access a wider selection of styles and sizes, along with online-exclusive items.
Improved search tools, curated styling inspiration, and fashion-focused imagery are also part of the enhanced online experience.
In addition to clothing, Tesco has updated its homeware displays and signage.

The improvements are based on customer feedback and are designed to better align the F&F Home range with the F&F clothing brand.
Tesco now available on Deliveroo
This latest trial comes after Tesco launched a new service on Wednesday (September 23).
The supermarket is now available on Deliveroo in 75 towns and cities across the UK, following a successful trial at 147 stores.
Ishna Berry, rapid delivery director at Tesco, said: "Customers are looking for more flexibility than ever in how they shop with Tesco.
"Launching nationwide on Deliveroo gives millions more people another convenient way to shop Tesco, bringing our great quality, value, and range to even more customers, alongside the added benefits of Clubcard Prices and earning Clubcard points.
"Whether it’s a forgotten ingredient, a last-minute family meal, or a quick top-up shop, customers now have even more ways to get products delivered when and where they need them."
