Tesla unveils 'flying car'
US electric vehicle maker Tesla has a new "flying car" equipped with thrusters. It was unveiled in front of an audience, who witnessed its gravity-defying capabilities up close.
The event took place at a test facility on Thursday in Texas.
CEO Elon Musk told the crowds they were about to see some "crazy stuff." He also said, "We need an audience to prove that it's not AI."
The sports car then drove up a vertical ramp, flipped, and came to a controlled landing. Musk said there was no driver for safety reasons.
The vehicle uses technology from Musk's rocket company SpaceX. The thrusters allow the vehicle to accelerate from zero to 96 kilometers per hour in less than a second.
Musk said the car will enter production in 2028. But some Western media point out the launch was postponed several times.
