Toni Bou makes history: The 40-time World Champion

The Repsol Honda HRC rider has been crowned Trial World Champion for the 40th time -a momentous achievement in the history of the sport.

Toni Bou became a Trial World Champion for the 40th time this weekend. The Netherlands witnessed the latest feat by the Repsol Honda HRC rider, who mathematically secured another title in the sixth round of the 2026 TrialGP World Championship. This is his 20th outdoor world championship title, the 40th in his unparalleled career, and achieved in the very year he turns 40 (on October 17th).

This has been one of Bou's most dominant seasons. The year began with his 39th title -his 20th in the indoor discipline- and continued with a stellar performance from the start of the outdoor series. He arrived at the Dutch round with a total of 9 victories (two in Japan, two in Andorra, two in Italy, two in Great Britain, and one from the only day of competition in France), confirming another perfect season with a clean sweep of wins. With this weekend's result in Zelhem, the Netherlands, capped off a masterful year.
