Two Cornwall companies team up to advance new green technology

Two Cornwall companies are working together to drive forward new green technology.

Oxford nanoSystems (ONS) and HiTPower, both based at Tremough Innovation Centre in Penryn, have formed a partnership to develop next-generation electrochemical test stations.

The new systems will support water electrolysis and other developing technologies that use electrochemistry to help decarbonise the energy sector.

David Hodgson, executive chairman at Oxford nanoSystems, said: "As the transition to clean energy accelerates, the electrochemical sector needs infrastructure that can deliver both precision and scale.

"This partnership brings together complementary strengths to create a robust, future-facing solution, while ensuring customers benefit from long-term support and reliability."

ONS will contribute its expertise in electrochemistry and test station design, while HiTPower will provide control system software and manufacturing capacity.

The fully integrated systems are designed to help scale innovation and commercial deployment in the clean energy market.

Matt Harrington, head of Cornwall Innovation Centres, said: "This is a strong example of the kind of collaboration we aim to foster across our centres.

"Bringing together two innovative businesses to develop solutions for the clean energy sector highlights both the strength of the ecosystem here in Cornwall and its growing role in supporting global industry challenges."

Dr Mohammad Abusara, CEO at HiTPower, said: "By combining expertise in electrochemistry with capabilities in control systems and manufacturing, we are developing a turnkey solution that meets the evolving needs of the global market."

Deployment of the new test stations has already begun.
