Golden State Valkyries star Gabby Williams put together a spectacular performance for the French national team, taking down hosts Germany in the 2026 FIBA Women's World Cup on Saturday.

The 2026 WNBA season is on hold while the global tournament goes through the knockout stage. It is in the semifinal phase with France, Germany, USA, and Spain highlighting the final four.

In 31 minutes of action, Williams balled out for her nation. She finished with a stat line of 22 points, five rebounds, five assists, and four steals. She shot 8-of-12 from the field, including 2-of-5 from beyond the arc, and 4-of-5 from the free-throw line. This was a remarkable outing as France makes it way to the gold medal game.

"France takes down Germany, 86-64, to advance to the gold medal game, where they'll play the winner of USA-Spain. Gabby Williams was exceptional with 22 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Heck of a tourney run from host nation Germany but France has just been too good," reporter Alexa Philippou wrote.

How Gabby Williams, France played against Germany

Gabby Williams and France have a chance to compete for the championship. They pulled off this feat after eliminating hosts Germany from the semifinals in the FIBA World Cup.

The game started out as a close affair as France only led 45-38 at halftime. Then the second half arrived and they came alive by outscoring the Germans 41-26 in the last 20 minutes of regulation.

Four players scored in double-digits for France in the win, including Williams. Janelle Salaun had a solid game with 14 points, 11 rebounds and one steal. Marine Johannes came next with 13 points and two assists, Valeriane Ayayi had 10 points and three steals, while Carla Leite provided nine points.

France awaits the winner between USA and Spain in the other semifinal contest. The gold medal game takes place on Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. ET.
