WA government backs Perth Landing Pad to lure international startups to town
The program, at coworking site Spacecubed, gives international startups an initial base in WA, and taste of the local tech ecosystem. It’s been used by more than 100 international companies.
WA science and innovation minister Stephen Dawson said the Perth Landing Pad is one way that international startups can break into the state’s important innovation community.
“This further funding will help expand global partnerships, support new technology development, and ensure local start-ups have the connections they need to scale internationally,” he said.
“It also strengthens Western Australia’s reputation as a destination for innovation, investment, and emerging industries.”
Perth Landing Pad enables tech companies to experience 90 days in WA through a guided program, with access to mentoring, local business connections, co-working and community spaces, and guidance on long-term residency.
The program also hasseven international Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in India, Vietnam, the Philippines, South Korea, and Indonesia, to strengthen global referral pathways and increase collaboration.
