Wildfire grows rapidly in British Columbia as evacuations begin
Video shows a massive plume of smoke rising from the Anderson Creek wildfire near Boston Bar, British Columbia, as the fast-moving blaze spread under hot, dry conditions. Authorities said the wildfire grew to more than 9,900 acres (4,000 hectares) after breaking out on July 21, prompting evacuation efforts while firefighters battled the flames alongside nearby wildfires. Crews continued working to contain the fire as weather conditions fueled its rapid growth.
