The WNBA has enjoyed unprecedented success over the years, largely due to the continued surge of talented players. The league has posted historic numbers in attendance, viewership, and merchandise.

Another proof for the WNBA's continued growth? The league's large delegation participating in the FIBA Women's World Cup in Germany, which will tip off on Friday.

According to the league, 70 current and former players are featured on the 16 national teams. That is over 35% of the WNBA.

Obviously, 12 of them are on Team USA: Aliyah Boston, Paige Bueckers, Sonia Citron, Caitlin Clark, Napheesa Collier, Kahleah Copper, Chelsea Gray, Rhyne Howard, Kiki Iriafen, Angel Reese, Breanna Stewart, and Jackie Young.

Those playing for other countries include Dominique Malonga and Gabby Williams for France, Ezi Magbegor and Alanna Smith for Australia, Awa Fam and Maria Conde for Spain, Leonie Fiebich and Nyara Sabally for Germany, Julie Allemand and Antonia Delaere for Belgium, Sika Kone for Mali, Mai Yamamoto for Japan, Han Xu for China, among others.

"Among the other national teams, France has the most current or former WNBA players (10), followed by Australia (nine), Spain (seven), and Germany (six)," said the WNBA in a press release.

It is a testament to the women's game becoming more global, which, in turn, helps improve the level of competition in the WNBA.

Team USA will look for its fifth straight title and 12th overall in the FIBA Women's World Cup.

Stewart has a chance to win her fourth championship and tie Sue Bird for the most in history.
