Woman found dead inside home in Winnipeg's West Kildonan area
Body discovered by police investigating missing person case
A 73-year-old woman was found dead inside a Winnipeg home earlier this month as police were investigating a missing person case.
The woman, identified as Lexie Diane Smart, was found just before 8 p.m. on June 8, police said in a news release on Tuesday.
Officers had gone to the home on Primrose Crescent, in the city's West Kildonan neighbourhood, to assist in a missing person investigation, the release said.
Upon arrival, they found a woman who was dead inside the residence. The death is being investigated as a homicide.
Police would not say if the woman was linked to the missing person. No other information has been provided.
