Cape Verde makes history as the smallest nation to reach knockout stage
Fans celebrated at a local fan zone in Praia, Cape Verde following their country’s goalless draw against Saudi Arabia at Houston Stadium.
That result paired with Spain's win over Uruguay meant that the nation finished as Group H runners-up. The team will now face defending champions Argentina.
BBC Africa’s Paul Njie spoke to locals on what the historic moment means for this tiny nation.
