Immigration, carbon tax abolition, and senior home care on the agenda

It's day three of the election campaign in Quebec and some leaders have already made announcements. Here's what you can expect on Saturday.

Christine Fréchette, Coalition Avenir Québec's leader, kicked off her day in Drummondville at a news conference on home care for seniors. She will then visit her campaign office in Trois-Rivières, the riding she's hoping to win. She currently represents the residents of Sanguinet, on Montreal's South Shore, where she was elected in 2022.

Parti Québécois Leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon has decided to focus on immigration, topic on which he will hold a news conference in Quebec City. Later, he is expected to travel to Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures for a game of pickleball with candidates.

Taxes, trade war and parental leave dominate Day 2 of Quebec election campaign

Quebec Liberal Leader Charles Milliard will be in Shawinigan to unveil his plan to reduce administrative red-tape for businesses. . He will then visit the Le Trou du Diable microbrewery in the same city before heading to the Grande Fête du Port de Québec. He is planning to end his day at a baseball game between the Quebec Capitales and the Ottawa Titans.

For her part, Québec Solidaire co-spokesperson Ruba Ghazal will first unveil public transit measures in Quebec City. In the evening, she will attend the Festival des arts de ruelle in Montreal, alongside outgoing MNA Manon Massé and the candidate for Sainte-Marie–Saint-Jacques, Roxane Milot.

Finally, Éric Duhaime, leader of the Conservative Party of Quebec, held a news conference in Lévis on the abolition of the carbon tax. He will then travel to La Malbaie to announce the candidate for Charlevoix–Côte-de-Beaupré.
