Everphone secures €15 million to finance new devices for corporate customers
Berlin-based Everphone, a Device-as-a-Service provider, today secured €15 million in refinancing in order to issue employees of client companies new workplace devices as part of long-term leases.
The financing was lended from Commerzbank and the development bank KfW, and follows a €270 million Series D in 2024 – a round that also included KfW.
“In Device-as-a-Service, profitability is determined at the level of unit economics, and financing costs are one of the largest items there. Our corporate finance team has set up several facilities in recent years and has further reduced the interest margin with each round. The arrangement with Commerzbank and KfW represents the biggest step to date in terms of inventory,” says Veronika von Heise-Rotenburg, CFO, Everphone.
Everphone’s refinancing comes amid limited financing activity around European device-subscription and business-equipment models in 2026.
In reality, there have only been two reported financings this year that can be considered adjacent to Everphone.
London-based electronics subscription infrastructure provider Raylo secured €34.5 million in January, including €23 million in debt, to expand across device categories and international markets, while fellow London company equipal raised €18.84 million in June, largely through a forward-flow facility, to increase its capacity to finance business equipment.
Together with Everphone’s latest facility, these transactions represent approximately €68.3 million of 2026 financing across closely related device-access and equipment-finance models.
“Everphone demonstrates how technology, the circular economy and a scalable business model can be combined. We are delighted that our purchase financing is helping Everphone to capitalise on its growth opportunities and further expand its market position. For us, the tailor-made financing of growth companies with innovative business models – developed in collaboration with KfW – is a key component of our commitment as a leading financing partner for German SMEs,” adds Mirjam Kuppe-Klötzer, Senior Specialist, Corporate Lending, Commerzbank Corporate Clients.
Founded in 2016, Everphone is a Device-as-a-Service (DaaS) platform for businesses. The company supplies smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other devices to clients – covering procurement, setup, management, security, and replacements. With a “Choose-your-own-Device” functionality, employees pick the device they prefer. Existing fleets can be integrated through buy-and-rent-back.
Everphone also offers managed services for MDM, mobile threat defense, and tariff management.
Current client list includes over 1000 organisation, including global consultancies, corporations, and DAX-listed companies
Today’s financing is based on a ten-year relationship with Commerzbank, which also acts as the company’s principal bank. The state-owned development bank KfW is participating in a financing round for Everphone for the second time via its Venture Tech Growth Financing programme, following a 2023/2024 round.
“Scale-ups need financing solutions that combine speed and predictability, particularly during their growth phase. This is precisely where we come in with KfW’s Venture Tech Growth Financing programme, in collaboration with Commerzbank, to support Everphone in positioning itself as an integral tech and sustainability partner for its customers,” says Jochen Eichmann, Head of Venture Tech Growth Financing, KfW.
As financing costs are one of the largest items in unit cost calculations for DaaS, the new structure – with an interest margin 20 basis points lower than the previous financing – is aimed at improving unit economics.
At the same time, the improved terms allow for larger purchase volumes at lower unit costs – particularly for replacement devices, which Everphone provides to its customers free of charge in the event of a fault.
