Mini cinema offers affordable entertainment at Pasar Rumput flats

Jakarta, IO – Visitors may spend their leisure time watching films at Jaksinema, located at the Pasar Rumput low-cost apartment complex in Jakarta.

The “mini cinema”, which was officially opened on Aug. 24, 2026, is located inside the Jakmart minimarket, on the third tower of the Pasar Rumput apartment complex. Visitors can take the elevator to the screening room, after passing through the market area on the ground floor.

The cinema features a single theater with a capacity of 43 seats, arranged across seven rows, thus creating a simple yet familiar cinema experience.

Ticket prices are relatively affordable at Rp15,000 on weekdays and Rp20,000 on weekends and public holidays. On that day, five different films were scheduled to screen, in rotation from 11 a.m. to 8:05 p.m.

Jaksinema became busier in the afternoon, as visitors arrived with family and friends to spend their time watching movies. Some were seen bringing food and drinks purchased from the Jakmart area.

For residents of the Pasar Rumput apartment complex and nearby neighborhoods, Jaksinema offers an accessible and affordable entertainment option. They no longer need to travel far to shopping malls or commercial cinema districts to enjoy films on the big screen.

The mini cinema at Pasar Rumput is part of Jakarta’s City of Cinema ecosystem that brings Indonesian films closer to the public. It gives the moviegoing experience into the rhythm of everyday life, nestled between the market, minimarket and residential complex. (IO/Septo Kun Wijaya)
