Oracle cuts 21,000 jobs on Artificial Intelligence services
Oracle Corporation has cut down 21,000 job roles globally last year as the firm reshapes its business to focus on artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure and services.
The firm said it had about 141,000 full time employees as at May 31, 2026, a decline from 162,000 in the same period of 2025.
The workforce reduction comes as major technology companies increase spending on AI, shifting resources towards data centres, cloud computing capacity and AI-driven products.
Oracle’s move reflects a broader industry trend where firms are reorganising teams and reducing costs while prioritising investments in emerging technologies.
The restructuring follows similar workforce adjustments by other global technology firms as they adapt to a changing market driven by AI adoption, cloud expansion and increased competition.
Despite the job cuts, demand for specialised AI, cloud and cybersecurity skills continues to rise, with companies seeking workers who can support the next phase of digital transformation.
