Tornado warning lifted for parts of southern Alberta, tornado advisory remains in effect
Severe thunderstorm was being tracked southeast of Lethbridge Thursday afternoon
A tornado warning that was issued for part of southern Alberta Thursday afternoon has been lifted.
The warning, issued by Environment Canada at 3:32 p.m. and lifted about an hour later, was for a severe thunderstorm being tracked near Warner, about 65 kilometres southeast of Lethbridge.
The storm, which Environment Canada said was possibly producing a tornado, was being tracked moving southeast.
The agency said damaging winds, large hail and intense rainfall was also possible, and that anyone in the area should take shelter if threatening weather approaches.
A tornado advisory issued for the surrounding area, including Lethbridge, Fort Macleod and the Municipal District of Willow Creek, at 3:14 p.m., remains in effect.
A warning was also issued at 4:38 p.m. for a cluster of severe thunderstorms twenty kilometres east of Del Bonita, about 85 kilometres south of Lethbridge.
