Tripura unveils T-RISE startup portal to link entrepreneurs with investors, mentors
The Tripura government on Thursday launched T-RISE (Tripura Registry and Integration for Startup Ecosystem), a digital platform aimed at connecting startups with investors, mentors, corporate partners and government departments as the state seeks to expand its entrepreneurship ecosystem.
The portal was unveiled at a workshop titled “Building a Unicorn in Tripura” at Pragya Bhavan in Agartala, organised jointly by the state’s Directorate of Information Technology and T-Hub.
The T-RISE platform is expected to connect startups with more than 20 mentors, 10 investors and 10 corporate partners, besides incubators and specialists in finance, law and marketing. It will also provide a channel for professionals from Tripura working outside the state to contribute to its startup ecosystem.
The workshop was inaugurated by Pranajit Singha Roy, Tripura’s minister for information technology, finance, and planning and coordination. Senior officials, investors, startup founders and academics also attended the event.
The launch builds on Tripura’s Sector-Agnostic Startup Policy, introduced under the leadership of Chief Minister Manik Saha. The policy led to the establishment of T-NEST, a state incubation centre at the International Business Centre in Hapania. The Directorate of Information Technology had earlier partnered with T-Hub to support implementation of the policy.
According to figures shared at the event, the policy has received more than 185 startup applications, of which 140 have been registered and 70 formally recognised. More than Rs 2.72 crore has been disbursed through a seed fund and related assistance schemes.
The government also signed agreements with HDFC Bank, Amazon Seller Services and Zoho Corporation to provide startups access to banking products, e-commerce support and cloud-based business tools.
The workshop featured sessions on fundraising and business scaling led by T-Hub representatives, along with a discussion involving a representative of Skyroot Aerospace, a private space technology company.
The T-RISE portal was developed by SanchiConnect in partnership with APITCO. State officials said the platform is intended to make Tripura’s startup ecosystem more accessible and data-driven as the state seeks to position itself as an emerging innovation hub in the northeastern region.
