Trump Xi meeting live: Chinese leader at White House

Trump continues and says that working together, the US and China have made "tremendous strides on the issues facing our two countries".

He says they are working on a "more balanced trading relationship" including "new market access for American farmers and ranches".

Trump adds the two sides will also discuss pressing issues on "security, technology and super intelligence".

Decisions made in these areas today can "promote peace and prosperity for decades and decades to come", he says.
