AI Just Helped Healthtech Startups Mint Twice as Many Unicorns in 2025
AI-powered healthcare startups minted 16 new unicorns in 2025, double 2024's count, pushing the $225 billion US healthtech sector toward a projected $1 trillion by 2035, according to Forbes. Abridge, OpenEvidence and EliseAI led the funding surge, while Rock Health data shows AI startups now capture more than half of all digital health dollars.
