Kerr kicks to Ultimate 1500m crown in Budapest

Josh Kerr judged his race to perfection to win the 1500m title at the World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest on Sunday (13).

Running 3:29.35, he held off the challenge from Cameron Myers, who chased him over the finish line in 3:29.68.

It might have been Kerr’s first 1500m race of the season but he started as the world leader thanks to the 3:27.62 he set on his way to a mile world record of 3:42.66 at the London Diamond League.

And he was the man to beat – his performance improving on his own Hungarian all-comers’ record of 3:29.38 set when he won the world title in Budapest in 2023.
