Issues of poverty, inflation, unemployment have now also become concerns of Gen Z and Gen Alpha, she said.Warning that the increasingly vocal younger generation would not indefinitely tolerate failures in governance, she said people would hold govts accountable for broken electoral promises, irresponsibility, disorder and corruption. She cited continuing campaigns for improvements in schools and education despite alleged opposition and obstruction by governments.Addressing a gathering on BSP founder Kanshi Ram’s 20th death anniversary at the party office in Lucknow, the former CM said govts must move beyond rhetoric and claims to improve education, healthcare, roads and employment, particularly in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh and other neighbouring states.Reiterating her demand for Bharat Ratna for Kanshi Ram, Mayawati said “it would be an acknowledgement of his historical role in social transformation and respect for the sentiments of the Bahujan Samaj.”She said millions of people belonging to the Bahujan Samaj constituted her real, extended family and that their welfare, interests, identity and dignity were paramount to her. She pledged not to compromise on these priorities and said she would protect the trust Kanshi Ram had placed in her by naming her his successor.Mayawati urged party workers to intensify their efforts ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab, saying political power was essential to translate the ideals of the party’s founders into reality. She was accompanied by her nephew and BSP national convener Akash Anand, marking his first public appearance since his reinstatement in the party last week. Akash was last seen at BSP’s all-India meeting on Sept 3, where Mayawati had curtailed his organisational role.At Friday’s programme, Akash maintained a low profile, accompanying Mayawati as she interacted with party workers and their families. He paid floral tributes to Kanshi Ram only after Mayawati signalled him to do so. Senior BSP members, including national general secretary SC Mishra and state president Vishwanath Pal, were also present.Mayawati’s younger nephew, Ishan Anand, recently appointed BSP national coordinator, led a tribute programme at the party’s Delhi office along with his father and BSP national vice-president Anand Kumar. The occasion marked the first major family event since recent internal controversies, with BSP leadership presenting a united front. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Lucknow | Silver Rate in Lucknow | Bank Holidays in Lucknow | Public Holidays in Lucknow | Lucknow AQI | Weather in Lucknow | Petrol Price in Lucknow | Diesel Price in Lucknow | CNG Price in Lucknow | LPG Price in LucknowStay updated with the latest Lucknow news.
